Great adventures were had after that day too.
I love seeing all these posts from my Moldvay mates. I wish I could remember what day exactly I got mine -- it was a random act of kindness on my mom's part, not a holiday gift.
Just found your site while googling to try to remember for sure if I got the same set in 80 or 81- looks like I started D&D on the same day you did! '81 was the best Christmas ever- got the Basic Set and the Atari 2600. I doubt I will ever be able to give my kids a Christmas as good.
